(Cheaply) Leaving My LA apartment

It’s amazing how a few secondhand and clearance rack pieces can make an outfit. In preparation for a casual business meeting last Friday morning, I pulled together a few of my latest deeply-discounted purchases and combined them with a few of my regulars. The result was a coolly-composed ensemble with a couple exceptional details, more than appropriate for business chat over coffee and muffins. Scroll down for outfit particulars, as you may be pleasantly surprised by the prices.

[Disclaimer: I do not think I’m a model; contrarily, I’m shy in front of the camera and would much rather be snapping away from behind the lens. But the photos wouldn’t be quite the same with my head cropped out, now would they?]

(Necklace: American Eagle Outfitters, clearance $9; Button cardigan: unmarked, secondhand $5.99; Lace blouse: Express, seen here; Ruffle blouse: Sweet Pea, secondhand $4; High-waist trouser jeans: Fillmore at TJ Maxx, clearance $10; Platform sandals: J. Crew Joelle heels, purchased on eBay; Purse: Nine West at Ross, $12.99.)
