Botanical Garden: Warm Colors to Liven the Spirit

If you’re strapped for cash, but have some time, search for a botanical garden in your city. My fiancé and I visited UCLA’s botanical garden yesterday and had a glorious time walking about and seeing the variety of lush trees and plants. Of course, my favorites were the colorful flowers, most all plucked from a warm-palette.

Tucked away, the botanical garden was a nice reprieve from the city life. Not much delights me more than gorgeous colors in nature. Stunning and inspiring, the warmth of the fuchsia and blood orange got me thinking happy thoughts.

If you reside in LA, check out the Mildred E. Mathias Botanical Garden on the SE edge of the UCLA campus in Westwood. Other options include the gardens at the Getty Center in Brentwood or the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena. Admission for the first two is free.
